Dji Phantom 4 pro raw sample images

With the release of Dji’s Phantom 4 pro with 1″ sensor and mechanical shutter I have had a lot of request for raw Sample DNG images.

You can download the Phantom 4 pro raw DNG sample images and also view my images after they have been touched up in Lightroom (These images are for personal use only).

The Phantom 4 pro has a new 1″ 20 Megapixel sensor that delivers high quality images that are nice and sharp with a good dynamic range, the images below show a good comparison of low light and daylight images.

Hey, thanks for these raw images. I’ve been trying to decide for some time if it’s worth the $$$ to get one of these for Aerial Photography. While there’s some pretty bad aberration out on the edges of some of the images, the overall clarity is really pretty good. It was very helpful to be able to process a few of your native raw images through Photoshop, and I got respectable results. The 20mp DNG is the big draw for me, so again, thank you for posting some.

    Cheers!

Thanks for posting these! I’ve been wanting to evaluate the quality of the 4 Pro’s camera to see if it was good enough for my needs or if I needed to look at higher-end models, and this was a good selection that provided exactly the “RAW” material I needed. It looks like a no-go based on low-light performance, but that’s what I wanted to find out.

I appreciate you placing these Raw images from the Phantom online for those of us who have an interest in the camera quality. I have been doing a lot of image manipulation with Raw images from the Mavic Pro. The drone belongs to my son who is not a photographer, but I am an experienced Photoshop user so I was interested to see what I could get out of the images. They are a little noisy from the Mavic Pro, so I turned my attention to the Phantom and found your page.

I use a 20mp SLR and while I don’t expect to see that quality from a drone anytime soon, the quality of the Phantom images are visibly better. Your sunset images are suffering a little from under-exposure in the shadows and I would employ exposure bracketing in those situations. However, I was able to raise the tones OK, without bringing out lots of noise.

I have been discussing drone images on my own photo forum recently, so can I ask your permission to link your example images from there and post any manipulations I have done please.

thanks for the post, DR on the 20MP files is impressive, and looking forward to seeing what dji does with the Mavic Pro2. If the same camera is used, that will be a great asset.
