Best Phantom 4 pro aspect ratio for photography 3:2, 4:3 or 16:9
The Dji Phantom 4 pro is a great drone for photography, Dji have added the new 1″ CMOS sensor which is more capable than the the phantom 4.
So which aspect ratio should you choose to get the most of the camera, Dji have given us 3 choices 3:2, 4:3 and 16:9. To make the best selection you want the one that gives you the most pixels and takes advantage of the 1″ sensor on the P4P.
Aspect Ratio crop sizes:
3:2 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3648 (BEST)
4:3 Aspect Ratio: 4864 × 3648
16:9 Aspect Ratio: 5472 × 3078
You can see from above that the 3:2 Aspect ratio on the Phantom 4 pro gives us the highest pixel count with 5472 x 3648 which is why i always shoot at this ratio, you should also always shoot in RAW format as this gives you the most leeway to edit your drone photos in Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop later.
There is no real need to use 4:3 or 16:9 in my option as you can re-frame and crop to these ratios in post as all the do is crop your sensor if you shoot in those sizes.
